Thank you for considering Anderson Academy for your child care and pre-school needs! We are a small home child care located close to downtown Richmond, Virginia. We provide loving care, understanding, patience, and guidance in a home setting. Significant research has provided evidence that warm home-like settings are natural environments for children during early childhood. Home child care provides the comfort of home and the experience of structured learning all in one. Home based child care is becoming the primary choice for many parents.

Philosophy
We believe a child's early experiences help to enrich and stimulate future growth. Children deserve to be treated and respected as individuals in an environment that welcomes reason, exploration, question, and imagination. Play is at the core of our curriculum because children learn best by "doing". Age appropiate activities are designed to help the whole child grow. We aim to give each child in our care a solid skill base in preparation to start school.

Hello! My name is Wendy Anderson. I am married, and we have 6 children that we homeschool. I have been doing home child care for twelve years. I have also taught as a pre-school teacher at my church child care. Teaching children and seeing the "light-bulb" moment when they learn something new just makes my day!
